New Orleans police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a Saturday night shooting that left one dead.
Kevin A. Franklin was arrested this morning at his home at 1826 Joliet St. without incident, said Officer Janssen Valencia, NOPD spokesperson.
The arrest was made just one block away from where Alex Soler, 33, was found with multiple gunshot wounds shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of Joliet Street. Soler was pronounced dead at the scene.
Franklin was identified as the person responsible for the killing during the investigation and was booked with second degree murder and possession of narcotics, Valencia said.
Franklin had been arrested Oct. 13 for possession and distribution of marijuana, but was released on a $500 bond.
